“I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of any thing than of a book! — When I have a house of my own, I shall be miserable if I have not an excellent library.”
Hinton Ampner is a Neo Georgian manor house, the kind often written about in Jane Austen’s novels, you can imagine Elizabeth Bennet spending hours engrossed in the books in the library.
As an ode to the 200th celebration of ‘Pride and Prejudice’ we shall be opening up the pages and displaying our copy of this most beloved novel, as well as readings throughout the month.
